We’re so excited here at Bluewater because with area schools letting out for summer break, the fun times are just starting for families looking for Tennessee Summer Vacation Destinations. This summer should offer fun like never before at Bluewater – and with a special promotion going on right now, it can also save money like never before!

Now’s the Time to Book Your Summer Vacation Getaway to Bluewater

Tennessee Summer Vacation DestinationLast year, we tried to get our swimming pool opened at the start of the season, but delay after delay pushed those deadlines back until summer had nearly ended before the first kids splashed their first “cannonball” jump. It’s a new year and a fresh summer: The pool remains open as a great way for the little ones to burn off their excess energy while mom or dad relax and catch some sun at poolside. The pool sits just a few yards from our all-wood Lodge accommodations, along with a shaded Pavilion adjoining it and a pond for those who don’t want to cast their line directly into the lake.

There’s certainly every reason to try for the big catch in Chickamauga Lake. The fish are biting, as they say! They don’t call Dayton TN “Bass Town USA” for no reason. There’s some big tournaments coming up, including the UMF Invitational, the B.A.S.S. Nation Team Trail East TN Regional, and Walmart’s Children’s Miracle Network Tournament, among others. The renovated General Store at Bluewater offers the bait and supplies you need to go angling in these waters, plus you can get a selfie with Ol’ Blue.

Fishing’s not your thing? No problem! You can explore these waters in a kayak or pontoon boat. Or opt to get out on the land. There are so many fun things to do here! Like visiting the 1891 Rhea County Courthouse to experience a bit of history in the newly updated Scopes Museum. That’s right, the same courtroom where the monkey trial was held in 1925 remains in use to this day! The basement contains fascinating artifacts of the era.

The Pocket Wilderness offers another great option for summer fun with great places to hike and take in the sights and sounds of nature, including a couple of beautiful waterfalls.

And, of course, Dayton’s just a short drive from Chattanooga TN, where all sorts of fun options await you, including the Incline, Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Tennessee Aquarium, and the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. Fun for the whole family, whether you want to get outdoors to enjoy spectacular views from high points or stroll through modern museums with breathtaking exhibits. Because of Bluewater’s proximity to Chattanooga, you can spend the day doing these fun things, then rest your head just a few miles down the road in the country. No fighting traffic your whole trip just to get up and get going.

Bluewater: Your Tennessee Summer Vacation Destination

We bet that once you enjoy one summer vacay staying here on the water, you’ll want to make it a seasonal family tradition. You can make it happen, whether you stay in one of our Lodge accommodations, a cabin or the Lake House. Or bring in the RV and spend a few days at our campground while enjoying your own kitchen and bed!

Speaking of kitchens, the cook in your clan will love what awaits them in our spaces. When you take the family out for a special meal, you can take a break from the usual and check out local favorites like Jacob Myers. One bite of their steaks, burgers, or seafood and you’ll understand why we love our hometown eateries.
