Tennessee Fishing Park

OUR TENNESSEE FISHING PARK AND RESORT

Bluewater RV Camping and Marina opened in 1980 and has provided many years of camping and fishing fun for families. In 2010, the Tennessee campground & RV park was completely remodeled with all new concrete campsites, roads & sidewalks, new pavilion, grass, irrigation system, sewer and electrical systems, cable TV, Wi-Fi, bathhouse, laundry room, three cabins, Lake House, general store/bait/tackle shop, caretaker’s house, and in 2016, our new Lodge was built. Our complete remodel left the charm and beauty of our resort, but with updated Tennessee RV Campground amenities to ensure a comfortable stay for you and your family.

We look forward to showing you our new look! Our campground is just 30 minutes from Chattanooga so we make an ideal destination to take advantage of all the fun activities in the Chattanooga area. When you’re finished, you can return to the beautiful and relaxing atmosphere of our Tennessee resort. You can see rates for our Lodge, Cabins, Lake House, or RV campground near Chattanooga, TN.

ABOUT THE RESORT OWNER

We are Doug & Angela Whitaker, owners of Bluewater Resort. When you visit Bluewater you will see the culmination of a dream of ours that started several years ago. For many years, Bluewater was a fishing campground owned and operated by our aunt & uncle, Ed & Dee Whitaker. Family members would come down often from Ohio, or up from Florida to vacation here and visit with relatives, making it a special place to all of us. When Uncle Ed & Aunt Dee were ready to retire in 2003, the possibility of our family losing this place that has become so important to us was unthinkable! With that in mind, we purchased the property to keep it in the family. Our long term objective was to completely rebuild the park and develop it into a place that fishermen, camping enthusiasts and boaters alike could truly enjoy.
We spent several years developing a plan for this new park, considering ideas and approaches from all angles. One hurdle we faced was finding the time to embark on such an ambitious project. Finally, in 2010, we were ready to begin. Ambitiously, we closed the park and began construction. Bulldozers cleared the way for many more campsites, complete with FULL Hookups on spacious level concrete pads. Old wiring & plumbing was replaced with a state of the art underground system. Concrete roads were added, along with lighted pathways along the shoreline. The park features a playground and is PET-Friendly, with posted waste receptacles for your pets’ needs. A bathhouse was added complete with a Laundry Room for our guests, a Picnic Pavilion area, a beautiful Lakefront Fire Pit area, and of course, modern conveniences such as expanded Cable TV & Wi-Fi. We completely remodeled our rental cabins and added an 18 room lodge in 2016. We constructed a brand new Marina. We offer overnight and seasonal slips as well as covered full time slips with Wi-Fi and Cable TV. It truly is a little slice of Heaven out here at Bluewater…where the fish are always biting, and the birds are always singing… Come on out and visit us. Let us show you why it is our special place. You will be glad you did.

TESTIMONIALS

We recently stayed at Bluewater Campground for about ten days and absolutely loved it. I had arranged ahead of time with the Campground Manager that twelve motorhomes would be in my group! We also wanted to be together in a group since some are handicapped. Everything was perfect! The views, hospitality, all the ammenities were great! Treat your self and try this little piece of Paridise tucked away in a wonderful little town! Tell them Muffin sent you!

This is a great place to stage your motorcycle tour of the Trail of Tears, Fall Creek Falls, Tale of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and the Smoky Mountain area. Clean, quiet, and convenient. Dayton, TN is a nice little town with a lot of historical significance, some good restaurants, antique and gift stores without typical tourist traps. Pretty and scenic!

One of the nicest campgrounds we’ve had the pleasure of staying in the last three years. Everything about this place is nice from the grounds, restrooms and laundry, to the great people that own and run this place. Can’t say enough good things about staying here. That said, the road leading to the campground is tad intimidating, but once you’re here you’ll be glad you made the choice. As an aside, the fishing is excellent as well.
